Leisure.

The historic and once heavily fortified town centre is set high above the river in a commanding position. For the less active it can be reached by cliff railway or of course by car. It offers panoramic views, a wealth of lovely historic buildings, fascinating alleyways and courtyards, a Saturday market, and as you can well imagine antique shops abound in the area.

Bridgnorth makes an ideal base for exploring the local towns and villages, The Marches and the Welsh borders, and for admiring some wonderful peaceful scenery. A walkers haven.

  Severn River

Golf courses are plentiful in the near vicinity.
The river Severn has excellent fishing, canoeing and miles of river bank walks (over 200 miles from source to mouth ). As a major means of transport in earlier days, it links the major towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Bewdley, which were bridging points and important trading centres. Ludlow, a garrison town from Roman times, was fortified against the marauding Welsh tribes.

The Severn Valley Steam Railway follows the river through some delightful scenery via some stations you might well recognise from TV programmes, through to Bewdley, also well worth a stop, and on to Kidderminster.
